Josefina Gutiérrez holds a Law Degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2016) and a Master’s Degree in Law from Columbia University, New York, United States (2024). She also has a Diploma in Criminal Procedural Law from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2018).
• In the academic field, Josefina has worked as an Assistant Professor at the Criminal Law Clinic of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2022–2023) and as an assistant to Professors Claudio Feller and María Elena Santibáñez in the Criminal Law Department at the same university (2017–2018).
• She practices primarily in criminal defense, litigation, and prevention matters, with extensive experience in complex cases.
• Before joining Giroux Vial Abogados, she worked as a Global Visiting Lawyer in the Anti-Corruption Practice at Covington & Burling in Washington, D.C., United States (2024–2025), as an associate in the Criminal Practice at Claro & Cía. (2021–2023), and as an associate attorney in the Criminal Law Department at Hermosilla & Cía. (2017–2021). She also completed an internship at the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office in New York, United States (2023) and her professional practice at the National Prosecutor’s Office (2017).
